Our Objectives

HelpingHands:

Established in Jan. 1999

An Institute where professionally qualified and experienced team provides Individualized Educational Program (IEP) for special children. Each child is assessed and IEP is developed according to his/her strengths and weaknesses. This tailor made educational program help the children to become a useful members of the society.

In addition to that, special emphasis is given to EPL (Exercises of Practical Life) training so that special children utilize their maximum potential. Helping Hands took a start from a very small set up with limited resources. With the help and donations from friends, community members, and parents of the special children it is functioning quite efficiently and productively.

 

 

Helping Hands established to focus on:

 

 

  • Identification and rehabilitation of mentally and physically handicapped children

  • Training parents for rehabilitation

  • Formation of C.B.O's (Community Based Organizations) to support parents and families with special children.

  • To identify the regional causes of disability by doing research work and to seek/offer possible solutions.

  • To develop  centers for Educational, social and vocational/economic rehabilitation.

  • To develop centers to treat psychologically disturbed patients.

  • To deliver lectures, to conduct seminars and workshops and disseminate literature regarding mental health issues.
